Our generous donors love helping students achieve their full potential.  That’s why they entrust us to administer permanent scholarship funds in their names using criteria they have selected. Since 1950 we have awarded more than $18 million in college scholarships making us southeastern Virginia’s largest scholarship provider.

This year we are helping 391 students attend college with help from nearly $1.2 million in Hampton Roads Community Foundation scholarships -- the most awarded in a single year.

Applications for the 2015-16 academic year are now live. Most scholarships use a new electronic application that utilizes one form to apply for multiple scholarships.

March 1, 2015 is the deadline for completing most scholarships.  Click here to learn more about applying for 2015-16 scholarships for college.

Did One of Our Scholarships Help You?

Are you among the more than 4,000 people helped by scholarships from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation (or our Norfolk Foundation or Virginia Beach Foundation predecessors)?

If so, please let us know what you are doing. Since 1950 our generous donors have provided more than $19 million in scholarship funds to help students achieve their dreams.

How Can You Support Scholarships?

We welcome gifts of any size to existing scholarship funds or our Community Fund for Scholarships.

You can donate online, send a check or arrange for a future gift through your will or other estate plan. With a gift of $25,000 or more you can create your own permanent named scholarship fund and specify the selection criteria.
