Types of Funds / Scholarship

Scholarship Funds let you help students pay for college. With a gift of $25,000 or more you can define the criteria for applicants, such as a specific field of study or college to be attended. Your permanent fund will help students for generations achieve their educational goals.

Frank Fang Memorial Scholarship
Dr. Chin Seng “Frank” Fang of Newport News was an engineer who loved to teach. The former department chair at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science in Gloucester County liked having a positive impact on people. After Fang’s death in 2005 his wife and sons decided a scholarship was the perfect tribute. Their own gifts and those from family and friends created a fund at the Foundation to help Chinese or Chinese-American students from Hampton Roads or Gloucester County attend college. Jimmy Fang says the scholarship fund “is exactly what we wanted and is an excellent way to remember my dad.”
